Happy Thanksgiving

So for the few that read this thing...HAPPY TURKEY DAY! So yeah, as you can tell I don't blog that often. But I haven't felt like writing. When I was growing up I used to write in a journal all the time, which is how my parents found out when I did stupid stuff and who I liked, yada yada yada...

So today is the first real day it has felt like fall. Cold crisp air, smell of wood burning outside and pretty fall leaves. This time of year always reminds me of my time in Italy. I was blessed to live there during the fall of '98(HUF). The best 3months! I have always loved the fall, its my favorite time of year. I thought about it today when catching up with a fellow HUF friend who was there with me. Nine years ago today I was picking olives off an olive tree at the villa in Scandicci, listening to an Italian pop artist blast over the speakers, then our fabulous cooks Anna and Renata made us a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner with the biggest turkey I have ever seen. We had most all of the trimmings, Italian style since they obviously don't celebrate and not all the ingredients are available in Italy. Oh, and one of my favorite things, we headed down to the the local Soccer field and played a little flag football...American style! Ahh good times. Now with the little one on the way i guess it will be awhile before we head back to Italy, but man would I love to go back in the fall.

Ok, so time for a baby update: I'm 16 weeks along and feeling little flutters. Mostly when I'm trying to sleep so yeah that is fun. The worst part so far is my need to drink a TON of water...at 9pm! So that means I'm up all night long, which is probably why I'm still needing to take naps in my 2nd trimester. But other than that things are good. Just waiting to see if we need to paint the room apple green(girl) or blue & brown(boy). I'm sure Paul is looking forward to doing that.
